Bivocational Ministry Emerging As Option

The purpose of the Southern Baptist Bivocational Ministers Association is:

  • To provide affirmation and encouragement for members engaged in ministry.
  • To provide a network to help connect bivocational ministers to ministry opportunities, especially in starting new churches. Also to connect persons in mono vocational ministry positions facing economic pressure with resources and encouragement to move toward bivocational service.
  • To provide opportunities for professional growth among Bivocationals.
  • To encourage young men and women to prepare themselves intentionally for serving as bivocational ministers.
  • To provide means of recognition of Bivocationals for outstanding contributions to ministry.
  • To provide affirmation and encouragement for all state fellowships and councils.
  • To affirm, encourage and assist those appointed as Volunteer Regional Bivocational Consultants.
  • To provide affirmation and encouragement to our partners in ministry.
  • To encourage state convention and associational leaders to affirm and   encourage mentoring relationships between bivocational and mono vocational ministers.
